Our rubber safety tiles are ideal for use as a surface for playgrounds, -squares or for around the playground equipment in your own backyard. Because rubber naturally has a cushioning property and absorbs vibrations, it minimises the risk of injury should a child fall. Moreover, compared to paving stones, rubber has a softer surface which also reduces the risk of abrasions.

The thicker the tile, the better its performance!
Every tile has its own HIC Value. This is the maximum fall height at which the risk of injury is considered acceptable. Our rubber safety tile, which is 7.5cm thick, has a HIC Value of 2.4m while a tile that is only 4.5cm thick has a HIC Value of 1.5m.
So you can use the height of the playground equipment to determine how thick the rubber surface needs to be to ensure optimal safety.

Before you would install the tiles, we recommend that you make an installation plan. This will ensure that a pattern is created as economically as possible with as little cutting waste as possible. The tiles should be placed on a hard, non-decorative surface. The draining effect of the tiles ensures that no puddles of water remain on the surface. You should therefore ensure that the water drainage under the rubber tiles is well regulated.

In vandalism-sensitive areas, we recommend gluing the tiles both to the substrate and also between themselves with rubber adhesive (not in our range).
